Thanks, @pingin. Went to the doctor, only to be told I had reached the end of the road as regards treatment and the only option open now is knee replacement surgery. I consider that to be the last coach on the road, barring leg amputation. I was upset, because I have a strong faith in healing and there is so much out there now about how cartilage can be regrown, but my consultant/surgeon told me that that did not apply, in my case. He said my condition is a genetic thing, even though I know of no one in my family who has same. He insisted it is a mix of genes, that causes it, and that I had done everything I could as regards healing, and should not blame myself. Reluctantly, I agreed to the surgery. It could be scheduled for mid-July or thereabouts. This surgeon has a great reputation and everybody seems to have heard of him or know him. I have heard nothing but good reports of his work - so that's a positive, at least.
Whisker, everyone I know that has had knee replacement surgery has been very happy w/ it. Is that what you will be having? A few of the people I knew had first one knee done & then the other - all were happy w/ the results.
Good luck with the knee replacement surgery Whisker, you won't know yourself after it. I know a lot of people who decided to have it done and they are delighted with the results. My friend said it was like being given a new lease of life.
Beautiful day here and I pottered about in the garden mostly.

I know someone who had a knee replacement, Whisker. He was so happy with the results that he couldn't keep the smile off his face and he was littererly jumping over anything he could find.
