Wow, Whisker. Kate Bush is amazing! To think that she was writing songs from the age of 10 and had her first single at age 16 - "Wuthering Heights". That really took the world by surprise.

The inspiration for this song was a flash she saw from the end of the film where Cathy' ghost was outside of Heathcliff's window on the windswept moors, trying to get in. Kate had not seen the rest of the movie, but before writing the song, she had read the book, by Emily Brontë.
