Glad you enjoyed it, @pingin. The next couple of weeks are critical as regards Enda's holding onto his position as Taoiseach (Prime Minister) after fairly dicey results in the recent General election. He is fighting hard to create a stable government with the amount of support he has.
I heard it said somewhere that President Obama said that he would like to be Ambassador to Ireland after his term as US President finishes. He would certainly be most welcome. There is one village in Ireland where he would be more welcome than anywhere else and that is where his eighth cousin, Henry, lives.
I don't think the proportion of black people in Ireland would be as high as in the US. Mostly they are fairly recent immigrants and would probably be named after the African country from where they originate, such as Kenyan, Nigerian etc. Of course we have some that are naturalized Irish, and have been born in in Ireland, but I'm not sure how they are referred to. Far as I know, we don't have a term like "African American". If we do, then it should be "African Irishman", but I've never heard that. Maybe it does exist - who knows?
Thanks. I just checked on "Wiki", the US is 13.2% black & 2.5% two or more races. I've had many black co-workers & friends & right now we have 4-5 neighbors who are. We live in a 55+ community.
