A Couple of Our Icons/Symbols Explained
Number 1.
This image is called a favicon. A what?
you exclaim! Yes, it's a new one on me too. 
A favicon /ˈfævɪkɒn/ (short for favorite icon), also known as a shortcut icon, website icon, tab icon, URL icon or bookmark icon, is a file containing one or more small icons, most commonly 16×16 pixels, associated with a particular website or web page.
When you have several tabs for various websites open at the same time, you'll have noticed little icons in the tabs representing each website. Most often, we see the blue "PB" (Proboards) symbol here. Proboards have kindly facilitated us to provide our own favicon for Only the Lonely."O t L". You can see it at the top of your screen on the name tab of this site. The image was designed by "Yours Truly".

This little image (to me!) symbolizes "Reaching Out" , reminding us that that's exactly what we are doing on "Only the Lonely" chat forum. I found this image on Community People Clipart. They have lots of images, some free to download and some not.
