Parents Turn in Teen Boys Accused of Girl’s Shocking Rape

New York City police initially said one of the teens used a gun to order the girl’s father to leave the playground in the downtrodden Brownsville section of Brooklyn last Thursday night and then attacked her.

Four of the youths, who range in age from 14 to 17, were charged with a single count each of rape and sex abuse and two counts of participating in a criminal sex act, police reported.

The fifth suspect, who was taken into custody at about 11am, is awaiting charges.

Prosecutors investigating a young woman’s report of being gang-raped by five teenage boys in a playground say they need more time to gather evidence before they decide whether to take the case to a grand jury.
